Robin Hood Airport is named after the legendary outlaw who is said to have lived in the area around Doncaster. The airport was built on the site of RAF Finningley, which closed in 1996. The name of this airside bar recalls Doncaster’s long association with horse-racing, particularly the St Leger. First run in 1776, the race was conceived at a supper party in The Red Lion, now a Wetherspoon pub in the town centre.
